Nora Coat

"Nora" is based on the work clothes that once supported the work and lives of people in Japan's farming, forestry, and fishing villages.

The fabric is made from Mikawa cotton, from our hometown, and Mino washi paper from Mino City, Gifu Prefecture, is used for the weft. The fabric is woven with air in it, giving it an irregular, three-dimensional feel, and the deep pattern emerges.

It folds flat, unfolds to let the fabric fall to fit your body, and tightens by tying the waist string. There are gusseted pockets at the waist and a long center vent at the back. The sleeves can be rolled up to your preferred length.

We hope that as you think about the wind blowing through the trees and the lush vegetation growing in the fields, you will be able to feel the wisdom and aesthetic sense of our ancestors in the context of your modern life.
